Lake Atitlan, Guatemala: Bus, Boat, Shuttle, Van Transportation: Antigua to San Pedro, San Marcos, Panajachel

To Lake Atitlan by Shuttle and Bus

Direct shuttles leave at 2 PM from Antigua for San Pedro or San Marcos and arrive around 5:30 Occasional delays on the Inter-American Highway can extend the trip by a half-hour. In May 2011, there was also a 9 AM departure direct to San Pedro that arrives around 1 PM. Another way to get to San Pedro is a 9 AM shuttle to Panajachel and a boat to San Pedro. Not recommended from May-November, when winds and rain make for a bumpy ride.

From San Pedro to Antigua, the direct vans and mini-bus depart at 8 AM and later, and are also better options than crossing the lake to Panajachel and catching the shuttle there.
