Love Boat to Cruise Lake Atitlan

"It was coming right at me!" shouted Moe Wright III as he described how the Love Boat crashed into his kayak at Lake Atitlan last Tuesday.

The Love Boat had just been dropped into the lake from a gigantic helicopter that transported the luxury cruise liner across the Caribbean to Lake Atitlan. It was headed for Panajachel to prepare for its Valentine's Day cruise of the lake when the incident occurred.

The original crew of the Love Boat was hired to staff the ship on the cruise. For this special occasion, the ship's huge swimming pool was replaced with a heart-shaped pool. The cruise's itinerary includes the volcanic island that emerged in the lake in December, as well as San Pedro, San Marcos and San Somewhere.

After he recovered from the accident, Moe Wright III was hired as Safety Director for the Love Boat on this and future cruises at Lake Atitlan.
