Freedom Bar in San Pedro

This legendary dance club—under new management—is still known for having the biggest and most popular dance floor in San Pedro. DJs, live bands, fire shows and other entertainment make this the edgiest place in the zona viva.

A big palapa covers the bar and restaurant, whose interior is lined with oak and bamboo walls. Out back, stone steps lead down to a garden with cushions and mats for relaxing. Chill in a hammock, or stretch out in the tree house and enjoy the lake view. If you want to play pool, there’s a free pool table.

Dance, Dance, Dance

Freedom's dance floor is lit up by swirling disco lights and other special effects. Bands range from reggae to rock to ska. On other nights, the DJs or VJs spin trance and techno. Towering speakers take the music to new heights, no matter what the music.

Fire shows at Freedom are spectacular. On the lawn, a performer spins two flaming orbs attached to short chains in opposite circles, tosses them high in the air and catches them, all to the rhythm of the music.
