San Pedro restaurants like Restaurante D'Noz are another good reason to vacation at Lake Atitlan this year..

Dining at Lake Atitlan: D'Noz Restaurant in San Pedro la Laguna

Where else on this planet can you get a gourmet meal for the price of eating at McDonalds? Only at Restaurante D’Noz in San Pedro la Laguna at Lake Atitlan, Guatemala. It's hard to find a restaurant with such good food and reasonable prices anywhere in the country.

All-new Menu

Dean and Monique, pioneers in the San Pedro restaurant scene since the late Nineties, recently introduced new entrees such as D’Noz Antipasta (with three cheeses), Baked Aubergine, Tempeh Fajitas and Caribbean Prawn Delight. The dinner menu devotes a full page to Asian fare, from Pineapple Chicken to Chow Mein. Specials in late December ranged from Acapulco Chicken or Prawns, to Gnocchi, to ChiliBurgers.

For dinner we had the Beef Medallions, wrapped in bacon and served with a potato croquette and butter balsamic sauce. The beef was tender and savory, and the Tuna Fillet on a bed Tabbouleh, Olive Oil and herbs with roasted vegetables looked so good we decided to return for it another night.

New snacks like the Cornish Empanadas and Cajun-style Potatoes cost just Q20, and foccacia, nachos, specialty burritos and other treats are also on the menu. You can start the day with a Full English or tipico, French toast or other choices.

Up-scale Ambiance

Locals will notice a big difference in the decor, which gives D’Noz the feel of an Aspen ski lodge. The expansive dining room with the vaulted wooden ceiling has an impressive panoramic view of the lake by day, and San Pablo looks like a UFO rising into the sky at night. The terrace has also been expanded.

Tropical flowers and candles adorn the tables, which are spaced far enough apart to provide more privacy than in many restaurants, and D’Noz has the most comfortable seating in town. Unobtrusive music and soft lighting add to the atmosphere, and real wine glasses are a nuance rare in San Pedro.

A class act all the way, from ambience to flavor and presentation, to service, D’Noz is as good or better than any Antigua restaurant—for a third the price.
